Welcome to the BAC In-Person USCF 1600+ - GM Steven's Master Chess Camp!

"This class will cover all the tools that a strong amateur needs to develop for FIDE titles. We will cover examples for and discuss long term improvement of:
- Calculation - with examples and exercise sessions
- Openings - including an in depth look at 1. e4 for White
- Endgames - how to maximize winning or drawing chances in complex endgames
- Middlegames - how to improve understanding the middlegames in your repertoire and decision making
- Game analysis - how to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses from your own play
Registered Students: Please reply to the Orientation (sent the weekend before the Camp) and include at least a few recent games with engineless annotations. This will help us optimize the curriculum to best match the skills and needs of the students in the Course.
Sample Camp Schedule
(this template is for regular BAC camps, so this more advanced Camp may sway from this format, at Coach Discretion)
Afternoon Estimated Schedule: 1pm - 5pm (mornings follow a similar template)
1:00 - 1:30 : Arrival + Casual Free-play Games, Warm-ups.
1:30 - 2:25 : Group Instruction/Demonstrations (based on observed skill levels).
2:25 - 2:40 : Optional Recess / Snacks (see snack options / disclaimer below).
2:40 - 3:40 : Games, Organized Pairings, Puzzles, Analysis at Coach discretion.
3:40 - 4:10 : Group Instruction/Demonstrations.
4:10 - 4:25 : Optional Break / Outside time.
4:25 - 5:00 : Free-Play Puzzles and Gaming until Pick-up (or coach discretion)

Please note: there is a NO NUTS policy and NO FOOD Sharing policy in all BAC Camps.

Note: we do not offer early drop-off option for the 1-5pm (afternoon) session. Drop-off time for the Afternoon Campers (1-5pm) is @ 1 pm. Extended care 5-5:30pm is available for an additional fee.
