Coach Sana joined BayAreaChess in May 2022!
Sana Tsogtsaikhan has been playing chess since she was 7 years old. Sana has truly distinguished herself in numerous international chess competitions and garnered a great many medals. At the age of eleven she participated in the World Youth Team Chess Tournament that was held in Czech Republic in 2006 and became the first Mongolian youngest woman to ever win this competition. While Saikhanchimeg was pursuing her chess dream she obtained her B.S Economics University. Sana’s biggest accomplishment is that she won the California State Women’s Chess Championship in 2018 and she is the winner of the United States Women’s Chess Champion in 2018. She loves working with kids and is passionate about teaching. Coach Sana has experience teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, from complete beginners to advanced students. She loves to motivate the students and make learning a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Sana is always polite to students and she is patient with them. She likes to encourage her students to ask questions, take risks and overcome the fear of making mistakes as this is part of the learning process. She tries to make the lessons practical, as well as personalizing them to each student.
