Lead Coach
Since joining in Fall 2015, Matthew LeForce has been coaching the beginner to intermediate players at Bay Area Chess. Since finishing college with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development, Matthew has moved to Denver and became a 5th grade science teacher. Although no longer the schools, Matthew coaches our students remotely through our online classes, specifically our 2-4 level range. Chess has stayed close to his heart, and he continues to teach chess to all those willing to learn, both in person and online.
When not playing or teaching chess, Coach Matt also enjoys baking sourdough bread, indoor rock climbing, and playing with my dogs.
